Lane County Home Sales Report- August 2013
August continued to show signs of a healty & stable housing recovery for Lane County. One stat to note is that August 'pending sales' dropped by 18% over July 'pending sales'. The real estate market here in Eugene & Lane County picked up a lot of activity this past spring and right into the summer. We believe the drop is expected, as families with children really wanted to be 'pending sale' by the end of July and be moved into their new home prior to school starting.
Average time a home is on the market is at 83 days (just under 3 months), and inventory broken out into months available is at 4.3 months- These are both good signs for a prospective seller.
Average Sales Price dropped to $229,300, telling us that the increase in rates has affected a buyer's affordablity comfort level.
